The chance of this happening can be greatly reduced by not bathing or swimming while wearing the jewelry along with storing the jewelry in a jewelry box when not in use. If your jewelry happens to get wet, it is important to throughly dry it prior to storing it away. If your jewelry happens to tarnish, it can be easily removed by rubbing toothpaste worked into a lather onto the tarnish with a soft cloth, soft bristled toothbrush or fingers, rinsing it off with warm water and then buffing dry with a soft cloth.
